A Little Magic

Hold on to your seats!  Two.  Count them.  Two days in a row!  I told you I was coming back around a little more.

Anyway, I had to share a magic trick with you that I finally took the time to figure out!  I am EXCITED!

3 boys 9-27-10 edited to make all look at cameraDo you remember this picture from yesterday?  Here it is again, minus the fancy framing…  Notice any differences?  This new picture is not one of the original dozen or so pics that I took of the boys all sitting together the other evening.  Nope, but isn’t it perfect?  I will give you just a minute to check and see if you can figure it out.  (No peeking ahead for the answer!)  Here is yesterday’s photo to compare.

3 boys 9-28-2010

Got it yet?  Yep!  All three boys are looking at the camera!  Do you think that I could get my boys to all cooperatively look at the camera together precisely as I take a picture?  On rare occassions yes, but alas, most of the time they are all going different directions!  Especially when I have no extra hands to direct and distract.

So my little magic secret?  Photoshop Elements 8…  I got this program over the summer and have been wanting to take more time to learn some of its cool little tips, tricks, and neat features.  I thought this was a good time to try it out!  Photomerge will let me have all the boys looking at the camera!  Brilliant!  I don’t normally do much post processing to my images, but sometimes it helps to create an incredible image!

Enjoying a little magic trick from time to time,

It is magic to me too! I'll have to check out the merge sometime if it's in Elements 7. I typically just post SOOC but sometimes crop and/or rotate...remember, I'm shooting from a moving, bumpy vehicle! But, PE7? No way. There are not enough hours in the day to sort through 300 or 400 photos and do what little editing I do on the fly with Picture Manager and still get a post put up.

I think this comment will show up in your e-mail now; like you, I rarely get comments from your folks anymore...grrr Also, like you, I'm just glad to know that everyone who is following, is following.

Yeah, we didn't imagine having 3 kiddos either! Sometimes it still seems like a dream, but one that I will enjoy living every day!!!!!!

Ok, I HAVE to brag...I knew immediately what was different about the pic. Now comes my confession...I really like the original pic when Riley WASN'T looking at the cam. Yes, I like the new one because I know how great it is to get all three looking at one time and leaves you with a great photo, but, the original provides such a story along with it, captures the mind of Riley...looking to pick...mmm, JUST ONE MORE...:) Glad u figured out a new trick...can't wait til ur next post!
